11/15 Report

Fished sun up to about 4pm. Went through about 6doz bait. Gizzards and small herring. Caught 14 I think the count was. Only 2 were for sure keepers one being a fat 26” fish. Fished from the back of hollow to the River forks. Had big lulls of no fish. FF was lit up most the day but not always chewing.

Thanks for the reports. Dad went this week and got a few shorts and a few perch jigging but it was pretty slow overall. Did you ever try those fish around the dock lights?

Yea we put in work on them last night 6:30pm. Saw some very quality fish. We only brought 7 bait. Caught 3, lost 3 and casted one bait off the hook. Dad’s @ his house tonight catching quality size threads and caught a 6” Herring. He also caught a 16” Striper in the net with the bait.

Dude, how fast were you pulling? If you covered that much water in 10 hours then you were pulling faster than 1 because that’s an easy 12+ miles …

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

It’s tournament week Rick, you know I can’t share all my secrets  . I know at one point I was going backwards. TM battery died. Thank God I have a monster 900 amp booster. It kept the TM going strong for us to go from 4 to Y and back @ .7 with plenty of juice left.

I wouldn’t have changed a thing and if 10 other teams had the prefishing day we had they wouldn’t have either …

I heard you say at weigh in y’all killed them on prefishing day.

Thank goodness the tournament is over for another month and maybe a little information will be shared again. Some of us “older” individuals who haven’t paced themselves well have a difficult time understanding some of the cryptic comments. Without giving away any secrets, where have they generally dispersed to? Pulled boards Thursday from one end of Beard’s Creek to the other and was hard pressed to even mark fish. Did they all go uplake? Still it was a great day to be on the water.

We literally fished from Spinners all the way up to Big Man’s and had a great day fishing the tournament with 20+ keepers that were 6-7 pounds. A pair on 10’s won it. We pulled over 15-40 feet of water. Deep or shallow, we had success wherever we went. Just wish we’d hooked up with some bigger fish, but I’ll take 8th place any day with the good anglers we have in MSC.

Good to see you as always James. We saw you as the Day was winding down fishing down/cross wind just below Spring Creek. Pattianne, the fish are concentrated from Ramp 4 on up. Well past Big mans and above Blacks bridge are still holding schools. Best fish I’ve marked was right outside of ramp 4. 15-30’ down the screen was so full of noodles it was almost complete red’d out. Hope that helps. I don’t mind sharing. If December is like what we experienced on Dec 23 last year fishing will be tough. Heard nearly 30 reports of 0 fish caught that day. I believe Fogman caught a couple that day perch jerkin with Spoonmaster.

They schooled just outside of beards today…and it was a HUGE school from what I hear…like Sept/Oct type of schooling (acres lol)

There are always fish in Ballentine. Especially in beards crk. You won’t mark much because the fish are pretty high in the water column. I especially like the very back of beards… have turned circles in there before ALL DAY LONG in the winter… you have to have faith in a spot/place instead of a depth finder, but that’s just an opinion (this opinion is for board fishing  ) I know others won’t drop a line till they mark fish

Fished today in the elbow area and marked tons of fish. Some of the biggest schools I have seen since the summer. But they were pretty much non active fish. Caught a few, nothing to write home about…

We had fish all around us and under us too on Saturday. They just seemed to have lock jaw around us.
