11/18 report

My Friday morning began at 0330 and I was on the road at 0400. Had one of our members on here xtreme going with me to learn a little about pulling boards. I pulled up at Ned’s at 0530 and it was silent. I didn’t know they opened at 0600 so I hung out for a bit and then other boats started pulling in. Well, 0600 and the doors are still shut and now I’m beginning to worry. The worker finally walked up about 0610 and she couldn’t find the key to get in the shop so now she is beginning to get upset and I told her we not going to get upset this morning because today is going to be a good day and everything is going to work out. I felt bad for her but it all worked out and 0630 I had bait and was heading to the ramp.

When I arrived at the ramp, Vincent jumped out of his car and I could tell he was ready to go. We left out the ramp and cut through the fog at one of my favorite creeks. We started from the back and pulled boards out and picked up a couple shorts and it was dead for a little while. Finally got on more fish on one of the points and started picking up a few more shorts. I left these fish to take Vincent to the elbow area because he heard a lot about it and never been there. We pulled boards for a little while and had a few hits from the gar but that’s about it.

Had to take Vincent back to the ramp because he had to go to work and I apologized for not putting him on more fish but I assured him I was going to get on some fish before I loaded the boat back on the trailer. I also told him I was going to text him a pic of every fish so his day would be miserable at work… Once I dropped Vincent off I started out on my search in a few creeks and went to a little spot I wanted to check out and then it was on.

Around noon, the fish were hungry and it was on. Started sending Vincent some pics of shorts then had to quit because they were coming in too fast. Picked up my limit of keepers and 15 more around 18 inches. Best part of the day was when my rod bent and it just kept running.

Hopefully Vincent learned alot. He had messaged me to see if I could take him on Fri but I couldn’t get off work.

Nice fish by the way. By the way nice to get another cf.com name crossed off…lol…I never knew this was you Daniel.

Yep its me… I enjoyed having Vincent and he is more than welcome to go with me anytime. I’m going to take him to the Hill this spring and show him how to pull boards in open water.

It was a great trip with Daniel. The morning was slow but I did learn a lots about using planer boards. Daniel showed me the setup and how to handle the boards. I did not know pulling boards was that much fun. I should stay a little more for the real action time. The best part is having another great friend. Mr. Rush, you are looking good with your game hat on.

Good job Danial, nice fish, like you, I love this time of year. Its only gona get better, Sure wish it would rain, cant beat a rainy day on the upper end of Murray!
