Launched out of #4 again, the dock is usable but the back is on land. Went up to the split this time. Went on the big saluda side and marked a lot of fish. Caught a nice 24" on a freeline right away. I worked 1/2 mile up and down each direction and got 4 nice keepers and 3 shorts. Lost one that felt nice, he took a long run then the hook came out as soon as he turned around. All fish were on herring, one down, one planer and 2 freelines. Very nice night out for the end of November. Here are the three I kept and the one I threw back.
Nice Tom. I should have spent the day there yesterday, instead of the mouth of #4. I saw a lot of marks there though, so it was tough to leave. That and it was a little chilly out. I did get my keeper at the split. You probably don’t see it at night, but there is a mass of bait in there. little shad all over the place and birds eating them out of the prop wash when running down the lake. Bird chasers were out yesterday which is always entertaining to watch, except when they run up on you. My favorite yesterday was a guy running WOT with his buddy sitting in the casting seat in the front with TM half deployed ready to drop the moment he runs through a school.

One of the reasons I prefer fishing at night. Only saw 2 other boats and they were both running trolling motors.
