Couldn’t pass up this day to hit the water. Should have been working- but oh well
Started out at about 9am. Tide was lower outgoing, and lots of junk in the water. I threw a big ugly red/white top pup along the grass pockets. I went about 100 yds when a big strike hit and landed a nice 23.5" red on top.
Found a ditch inhabited by many rat reds. Caught them on almost every cast. Lost one that felt a bit bigger by the drag he was pulling. Left them biting in search of some troutses.
Found them on the lee side of a dock. A decent school of 14-16" fish. Caught a mess of them along with several reds and a flounder (small)
Wind picked up so I set up a drift in a good low tide spot I know and got a 14" flounder. Too close to the limit so released it.
Tide was now very low, so I did some scouting of structure for future reference. Hit a dock on the way back to the landing and picked up a nice 16" flounder to complete the triple slam.
This morning was one of those mornings that make you glad to be alive and lucky enough to live in the best city in America
