We had a small window to fish Sunday, but caught around 20 trout in and hour and 1/2. Most of the fish were caught on Z-man Pogyz in Pearl. I was getting beat up by my son and switched colors to try and catch up to him. The wind had changed direction and was coming out of the north. We found a spot where the wind and the current were bucking each other along a good shell bank and started catching fish immediately. The bite was a little different as the fish seemed to prefer a little faster retrieve. I have a bad habit of reeling quickly when my lure gets near the boat, because I am anxious to cast again. I had a fish hit it as I sped up near the boat. The next several cast I went with a little quicker retrieve and caught fish. I think some of this may have been due to the wind slowing the current along the bank and the lure was getting down deeper than is would have if the current had been rolling. Still a great day on the water. The water is really clearing up nicely. Sorry for no pics, we were on such a short time restraint, I did not want to waste time with taking pics.
Thanks for the details Andy… as usual my best fishing tips come from following folks like you.
Thanks for the report! The water is definitely getting clear as I’ve seen it in a while!
