Hit the water about 10:00 and only managed one trout. Saw plenty of people doing the same as we were “fishing” Had my son and brother fishing live muddmiinnows while dad and I threw a variety of grubs. Hit many of our favorite spots for redfish without losing a single bait. Had a good time as always cutting up with the family.
Thank ya for postin this. Misery loves company…
We skunked on the spottails up north on the hi tide. It didn’t look 7’ though.
The rails readily bit 20 gauge bird shot. So that part was good.
Same here. Was on the Stono and had no bites.
A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.
Always good to be the water.

I fished the South Edisto yesterday from Bennet’s Point back to the Dawhoo Landing and only caught two fish all day. One red at 16" and another at 17". Both swam away healthy and unharmed. I had had every live bait imaginable but had no luck until the ride home. Stopped at the rocks at Pine Point and that’s where I caught the two little fellas. I was 3:30 and the outgoing tide was still ripping. I passed a john boat with three fellas fishing and gave them all my bait and went home to watch the Clemson whupping. That was the one thing all day that did not disappoint. Weather was not as forecasted and three-star fishing day was a bust. BUT, it was nice ride out and in, retreived boat with NO mishaps, and just being on the water was worth the effort.

It’s been a little tough for the trout lately for me, too. I trout hunted a little on Friday and only got three. The water was like creme-and-sugar coffee with a nice topping of floating trash and current to write home about. A bazillion boats buzzed all over the place. I’m hoping this week coming will be good.

Peapod said it. We got to “enjoy the weather” today as well on the Wando and Beresford…not a bite all day. Tide was ripping. Surprising this time of year and not 1 fish today
Glad to hear it wasn’t just me. I took 2 old friends from Greenville out around Bohicket creek and the N. Edisto Friday. Not one fish all day. Those high tides combined with a front and new moon must have given them lockjaw.
