After seeing all these reports of trout I rigged some of my favorite color grubs, a spook, a straight lined doa shrimp and the cast net just in case. First spot and water is just starting to move out good. Right off the bat hook up with a nice keeper trout on electric chicken grub, catch three or four short fish. Switch to the smoke metal flake with green tail no hits. Move to spot two and again no hits on the metal flake with green, switch to small clear metal flake and bam, keeper number two then a few short fish. Move to spot three and no hits on all three grubs so I start to chunk and wind the spook and hook up on a lower slot spot, which was fun to see. Pick up the doa shrimp and the trout bite is on! For an hour or so every cast lands a trout, mostly 13 fish. Starts to slow down so I decide to move down the bank a bit fishing the doa. The line goes tight so I give it a little tug and this thing takes off!!! Whats this ??? Fish jumps out of the water but I dont get a good look at it. So now im really puzzled. fish gets a little closer and jumps again and I think oh thats just a ladyfish. Fish gets closer and I realize ITS A SNOOK!!! So now im just praying to land the fish because no one is going to believe that I caught a snook in the cooper. But luckily I did land it!! So after a couple pics, snook goes back in the water and im so excited that I dont measure the fish or even check to see how good the pics are. Then just a few casts later I hook up on a 24 spot tail that hit the doa, which is also very rare for me to catch on a doa. Ended with 7 keeper trout and all others were released to be caught again!! Sorry for the long read but this was a first for me!!!
How cool is that! Congrats!

Very cool! Glad you were able to land that snook. Thanks for the detailed report.
Dern chilly for a snook but nature always has a surprise.
That’s a catch of a lifetime around here

Nice, good job on the Snook and the Trout!
Wow, you do not see many of them around here. Must have been lost. Very cool!
I’d love to add that to my logbook…you lucky dog!
