The first time we started pulling planers I about threw them overboard after the first fifteen minutes … Chip came over and showed us how to use them and it was on from there … At first it was all we could do just to pull one set of planers …
Now we pull at least three sets up to seven / eight sets NOT including float rods, down rods, and transom rods …

Lol. I remember that. I literally threw them in the lake and rode away from them. Then realized that was 20$ sitting back there (try buying a set of boards for 20$ now) went back picked them up. That was a memory I will never forget. I really wish someone had been with me or got it on film.

Yeah, that’s only on rare occasions and only in wide open waters …
Although I will say that the boys up North will troll with 25 - 30 rods in the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic …
But then again those boys are using 3’ planer boards and pulling U-Rigs on every line …
