Fished hard this weekend and had to really work for the fish we caught. Had 10 on sat with 8 keeps. Fished the Big only on saturday. Great meeting Taz and another great trip with lakefan5150…
Again today fishing was tough and had to work for them. Started in the little and could not buy a bite except a decent fish on a pencil popper. Moved to the big and picked up another and that was it for the big. Moved to spring crk and picked up a couple then down to hawleek picking up one here and there while working back toward spring crk. Finished with 8 keeps again and 3 or 4 shorts. Great trip with the Lawcrusher clan again.
Fish are really starting to put weight on. All fish, even the shorts are really fat.
You may see my boat out there Sunday Chip. Although fishing from your boat always yields about 5 more fish than my boat. What’s wrong with my boat? Surely can’t be the captain, right?
Maybe it’s cause I never wash my boat…lol…smells of fish and herring…ha…well it does get a magic eraser taken to the white twice a yr. Once half way through winter and once after I leave the rivers…
Thanks for the report Chip. I’ll add my .02 worth, too.
We only fished Sunday (11/10/13). Found fish stacked up at map coordinate O1 but they must not have been hungry. A little before noon moved down to the lower lefthand corner of S14 in 45’ of water and instantly got action. Though they weren’t really showing up thick on the FF we had bites on DR/FL at least every 15 minutes. The action was about 50/50 between the FL/DR. There was a little topwater schooling (not big schools) going on all day and we tossed Spooks and bucktails at them but no hookups. At times, we had multiple pull downs and ended up finishing with 4 keepers in the boat and 1 big gar that fought hard. Didn’t land 2 really good fish, fish I wish I had at least seen. One broke off at the hook after about 20 seconds of screaming drag- reminded me to check my leaders after catching fish next time. Things slowed down right before dark- dead calm- just when we were expecting the sunset schooling to occur. Just shows Mr Linesiders is an unpredictable sort.

I think you posted this in the public forum by accident … a lot of these guys may not know the MSC Club map coordinates soooooooooooooooooo … things like “S01” and “S14” sound like gibberish to them … of course, now is a good time to “Plug the Club” so to speak … so for those of you who don’t know the Midlands Striper Club is meeting TOMORROW at Flight Deck in Lexington beginning at 7:00 pm … get there between 6:30 - 7:00 … guests are welcome and membership is easy and encouraged …
Law, I find most MSC members frequent both sites- I know I do. They have the map and get the idea. This forum tends to get more traffic so I just piggybacked onto Murrymaker’s topic- especially since we were texting each other on the water. Besides, it isn’t the first time I’ve been accused of gibberish when it comes to talking about fishing. Because other than serious Murray fisherman who knows where the riverbend and 'Bow are anyways?
Thanks again for another productive day on the water. Had a blast, as did the kids. Now to figure out our live well issue, or Rick will be getting me a bait tank for xmas…
