ok trophymike, all i want to know is who really caught that fish you or your brother. i dont believe you could handle that thing on your own. barley pick up a beer now that makes sense. its a shame lance wasnt with you he would have loved to see that thing. nice catch dude, nice catch.
Fishinfools…??? Who are you??? But anyway. You are right seriously all I could think about was I wish Lance would have been there. He would have been proud.(tear in my eye) Im gonna call him on monday. And YES I did catch it. All my brother did was laugh at me every time I yelled, " Its a f*#$ing Hammerhead. Get your camera" It was cool cause he was visiting from NYC. And yea, I did say, " I think I need a bigger boat"

Hotknife… left the dock (Folly) at 5, he took the bait at about 9:30. And for the future… I dont know how much diving Id be doing there. That Shark was big and something I didn’t know was that they are pretty aggressive.

you know exactly who i am. in fact we know each other better than you think. lets put it this way, i remember when your boat met something in the ashley it shouldnt have. good to see you graduate to bigger sharks. thats a whole lot bigger than you were getting in the harbor. glad you caught him in daylight rather than your usual night trip and pretty awesome that your bro got to see him.
Nice fish, glad to see you let it go rather than killing it. I love watching hammerheads offshore on calm days. Really hard to tell scale in those pics. I released one about that size in the shipping channel two years ago, caught it on a menhaden while kingfishing!
Chas’n born, Chas’n raised!
AHHHHHHHHH fishin FOOL. The name should have given it away but it certainly confirmed it. We need to put a trip off shore together. Its nice to have a few guys handy to fix our engines when they quit offshore and a parts guy to…well… have parts ( or atleast tell you they are on backorder). Lets do a Sunday. As far as running into something on the Ashley, well I did come across a boat full of drunkin refugees trying to enter the country illegally !

to get a accurate wheight you take the girth measurement squared and times it by the length in inches then devide that number by 800 say the girth was 40" and the length was 144" then your formula would look like this. 40x40=1600x144=230400 divided by 800=288lbs.
it was thoes dirty diaz brothers.dirty cockroaches!
Deja Vu. We caught and headroped one over 10fteet at 4ki in 1984 0r 85 on a spanish that won the trident for my brother (15 at time). We fought it for 2 hours on a Penn International 50 with a harness. It weighed a little over 300lbs. It was thicker than the one in your picture but I can’t tell if your fish is longer. I put the tailrop around the hammerhead and we drug it for an hour and then pulled half of the beast into a 17 whaler and weighed it at Bohicket. I think your fish is probably in the 300lb range as well because its pretty skinny and he didn’t fight you very long. That was back in the day when everyone was catching monster sharks for fun and briging them back to the dock. Congrats!
