Paying up the money would be the honorable thing to do. That's what I would do. Nobody in this tournament even thought there was a chance that you might back out.

So what? Most tournaments aren't about the money, but if you ask people to risk their capital and obey the tournament rules, then you should be willing to do the same. I don't care if it was $1.50. It's about the principle of it all. That's what honorable people understand.
We submitted our money with the full understanding that you would be in the tournament and had committed to pay the same entry fees. We never thought that you would wait until after someone posted a report that you would get cold feet and be allowed to back out.

We’ll have to see if Bad Apples father dies between here and there and whether PJ’s lays enough brick to pay for his daughter’s 6 week trip through Europe, and if the Town of HHI lays off on my site plan violations and my employees show up to work. Otherwise you win.

Good. I'm glad you guys had a good day. It's easy to pick out a trip that would have won. We've caught 9 gags in 3 hours a few weeks ago. Big deal. Who knows. Maybe the fish would have been biting for us that day too. That's the way it happens sometimes. Maybe you should have declared a fishing day since it was during the tournament time.

And I’m sorry to hear about Bad Apple’s father, but its not fair to use such a misfortune as an excuse to back out of your agreement. Maybe you should have considered all of those other business risks before you committed to fish the tournament. It sure didn’t keep you from fishing last week. Again, you would have been more than happy to collect EF’s money last tournament when his engine broke down.

Why not just fish Courtland? You still have a week or ten days and going by your usual past and recent habits you will most likely fish by then anyway.
We all said you could send in the money late, and that is still the case. It is the only “white” way handle this situation as I see it. However you did once tell me that you were welsh didn’t you? Maybe I should have listened.
Seriously Courtland, I hear no fat lady singing but moreover I want no shallow victory.
Pony up and pick a day like the rest of us.
And for the record, My engine went “pop” after I paid the entry fee last time. I asked if I could transfer it to another team/boat and the answer was an astounding NO. I just wonder if everyone else is fishing on their own boat or with their own regular crews,or if strange boats and even stranger crews are being recruited.
Either way I fear this may be my last CF bottom fishing tourney thingy. It’s pretty evident to anyone paying attention that I am not only the best and most consistent saltwater bottom fisherman around, but also the best all round fisherman in general. I don’t know what I was trying to prove anyway.
Anyway, we did what we said we were going to do and my conscience is clear. We played by the rules and gave it our best shot. Like I said before, we are men of honor are we not? I only hope everyone who was involved in that 17 page fiasco of a thread leading up to this point can truthfully say the same.

I think it is hilarious how many people were to scared of internet ego skinneej, sellsfish, and ef to fish the tournament because of their high post counts and well written fishing reports. But now that we realize they are just normal fisherman like the rest of us everyone is now interested. Lots of arm chair quarterbacking.
Lets see what you got. How many people are interested in fishing now? What a bout a late fee and a week or two extension? Maybe we can work out something with skinneej as well so he is not getting the short end of the stick.
The whole point of this was to get alot of cf.comers together to fish not become Skinneej vs Phin death match.
