It’s pretty interesting how when you give someone a hard time about backing out of a deal that suddenly they find a crew and can go fishing again. Truly amazing.
Marsh Monkey, haven’t you been reading? We WANT you guys to fish. What is a tournament when only 2 boats fish? If you beat us fair and square, then we will be the first to say “congratulations”, but at least Courtland played the game as agreed. You guys should have the best shot at it. The fish haven’t been biting for the past week. They should be ready to chomp by the time you guys make it out there.

Believe it or not we are all pulling strings to make this happen. When is the last time there were 4 fishable days in a week and I fished once, on someone else’s boat no less. I think the pot has been stirred enough that no one wants to leave it this way. Hopefully we’ll get to give a go.

Definite maybe! The weather man looks like he is reserving Sunday for me. Saturday will be fishable, just not for me. The crew is questionable…stay tuned
For someone who has “5000 hours of safe operation under my belt, nearly 2000 in the dark” which is more than any charter captain in the state of SC over the past 2 years on 50+ fooot boats, you would think that a 3 week window was big enough to find a day to fish, especially when many of those yielded half day reports.
OK here is the official ruling: My wife says I can fish from 8AM-4PM, no wait… not fishing time…no 7-4 but dock to dock, not lines in. That should give me about 12 minutes of soak time.
You won’t believe me, but I just received hundreds… No… THOUSANDS of private messages from the fishing community in Charleston and 3 of them were from the Mayor of Hilton Head that said that they had decided to switch sides again from they yankee who didn’t know a grouper from a blue gill two years ago that has accumulated 5000 fishing hours in those two years, back to the Charleston native who just wants you to honor your committment… Seriously guys, thanks for all of the support. I will be writing thank you cards on pretty stationary and setting up a charity in your names to donate the $62.50 of winnings too!
