Got out today to test my new rain gear and try my hand at catching something on a fly rod. Found plenty of trout and caught my first SC fish on a fly! Only a small trout but was a lot of fun.
Also had a nice spot tail on a Vudu under a cork.

Heading to Trinidad in the AM with JR Waites to catch tarpon,really hoping I can snag one on a fly1

Great catch!

I have been looking at new rain gear, what did you buy and how did it perform?

Look forward to a Trinidad report, that has been high on my interest list for a couple of years. I am confident of the great fishing but would like a first hand report on facilities, transportation and safety.

Pea, wouldn’t you know it last night they just stopped again. I think it’s connected to the app that manages the landscape lighting, but I digress!
On the rain gear I got the lightweight Huk stuff. The jacket was on sale, got the pants as well. I was very happy with how it performed, I was literally out in the pretty heavy rain for maybe 4 hours. Held up good. Only problem is I wanted the navy, but they only had the pants in my size in red, so with the blue top and bright red pants I’m pretty visible out there. Gives me a chance to show my patriotism when it rains!
Just landed in trinidad, will post a report up tomorrow night after our first day in the water.
