12-13 Night fishing

It was a cold night, but the wind was light so I decided to go for it. Water went from 58 to 61 degrees last friday to 48 to 52 this friday. Not much room to tie the boat to the #4 ramp, but made it work. marked fish right away and dropped lines before the motor even warmed up. Pulled bait out of the #4 cove all the way over into the mouth of hawleek without a fish. Marked scattered fish, but nothing like the last 2 weeks. Pulled up and went to the big/little split. Started up the big and the water was 48 and no sign of bait or fish. Went on the little saluda side and it was 51 with lots of bait and scattered fish. Managed 2 shorts and called it quits around 11. Seems like the night bite dies every year when water dips down around 50*.
