Was sitting at work this past week thinking about fishing somewhere different this weekend. Came up with an idea and sent out a feeler text to try and get conformation and got it.

Got a late start this morning due to people sleeping in but finally got on the water around 9ish. Bird activity out in front of the ramp so we wouldn’t be going far. Had some quick action that produced today’s big fish (solid 8#) continued to pull and picked up a short and some pull backs. Wind was really starting to blow and kept me out of areas I wanted to try the most.

We had marks like these all morning/afternoon but I was to stubborn to pull out the downrods. Finally did so around noon and it was pretty much game one. Only problem was they were shorts which is what I expected down there.

Final total for the day was 15. 5 keeps 10 shorts. 11 fish were on downrods. Had a number of pull backs and downs. Pulled some left over big gizzards today as well…lol…22" fish ate a 10" giz.

What was really nice was there were ZERO striper boats around us and ZERO bird chasers. May have found a nice little winter hang out.

Cool…I see you traded your HDS in for an E-7! LOL

Who’s boat were you on? I want to know what to look for when I go circling the lake next Sunday to see where you’re fishing…
