Pete, Chris, my girl, and I got out this morning in Pete’s 197 before light to try and push out to some areas I haven’t fished in a long time. Made it to a few but not as many as I’d hoped. Thick fog bank was out there with some 15+ knot winds and steep stuff to run through. Couldn’t make good time, so had go to plan B: put the boat in the trough and get somewhere other than where I’ve fished lately more quickly. Had to get some fishing in a.s.a.p. since I had to be in early today. At the first spot, we messed around picking through mixed short and long BSB and B liners- some were near 20 inches and some where 8 inches. Finally, we gave that up and went and checked out a few more spots before we found something good- a big grouper bite. Sharks took over and ate up the rest of our good baits in no time though. Had to start running back to the hill at that point… We began making good time, so I decided to stop again at one spot where we then pulled up a dozen or more short scamps/gags and one more keeper scamp along with a box full of triggers in about 20 minutes. Got in before 3; sorry we couldn’t stay on them longer y’all.
they look like the renegade gloves I got…mine are el cheapo’s but they keep my hands from being eaten up at the end of the day and I don’t catch any fins to the fingers or palms
