The GF’s brother was in town and wanted to fish or hunt so we decided to try fishing with a backup plan of hunting if it was slow. We caught about 25 slot reds in the 2 hours leading up to high tide. Around sunset they were on fire. High tide was delayed due to the wind.
Not bad for creek fishing from land. All caught on big eye jig with electric chicken (watermellon) or silver body with yellow tail paddle tails.
Caught the first few with a fast and steady retrieve. All the rest were caught with a very slow retrieve dragging the bottom. Mud bottom.
Went back yesterday before getting in the stand and caught 1 red in 2 cast.
Today before hunting caught 2 reds on 3 cast. Couldn’t pass up this opportunity so I brought my 88 year old grandma out to snag a few. She landed 3 with 5 hookups on about 15 cast. I flattened the barb Friday when I had a fish hooked near the eye so 2 were able to shake free.

Haven’t been back since. Was full court press on hunting after that. Gonna try to sneak up there later today if possible but it’s doubtful at this point.
