Went out on Christmas Eve…early in the day on the outgoing tide I caught about a dozen trout, all on plastics. Later around low tide, I found a couple schools of reds. They were hitting on mud minnows and plastics. I found that a very, very slow retrieve worked best for the plastics. In some instances I just let the paddle-tailed Z-Man plastics sit on the bottom and let the fish find them versus doing any jigging. Ended up with over 15 reds with many in the mid-slot range. Lighter colors like Smoky Shad and Opening Night were the best producers of the day…
Good luck out there, and be safe!
