hit 4ki again today. nice limits of blackfish for all. saw a very large shark-unknown species-cruising at the reef.
had numerous large surface blow ups on baitfish.was never looking in the right direction when it happened so i dont know what it was.
water was smooth. could have run wide open out and back.
caught a number of large keepers on a 2 oz bucktail using a lift and drop retrieve.
beautiful day to be on the water.

Folly,
Nice day. The bucktail is my favorite for big seabass. I’m curious about the shark. Is’nt Kiawa reef nearshore, 40’ or 50’ of water and what was the water temp. The reason I’m asking is that if you saw a large shark crashing small bait, it might have been a Porbeagle. They’re commonly mistaken for Great Whites and have been reported in the Charleston area. If it was a Porbeagle, consider yourself lucky because they are red flagged as approaching the endangered species list.
