Ten miles out of Folly I tagged and released this 12’ Tiger on Friday. I used a sharpnose head for bait; took a couple of hours on 80lb. test. Managed to tail rope it next to the boat so I did get a good measurement prior to release.[

We had one that big do a couple of flybys on us about 8 miles outside the jetties Saturday. Beautiful fish.
A long long slow walk in the spartina gives you time to think big thoughts and put your mind back into order.
Thanks, Wes. I sent you a message on facebook…thinking I need to downsize my equipment. That little white thing in the photo, by the way, is the head of a 3’ Atlantic Sharpnose shark that was used for bait.
nice pic, squalus. is that a little sergeant major and a couple remoras?
got one that size on 80lb as well- in port royal two weeks ago while cobia fishing- took every bit of energy i had to get it to the leader. wish i had a tagging stick with me.
Yes, sergeant majors or pilot fish were around it. But the most interesting thing was that there were 5 or 6 cobia around it during the entire fight, as well as a couple of large remoras.
Thats awesome
