Best brand? AC DELCO group 27. My last ones lasted 10 years. That’s all I use
Best prices? Don’t buy a cheap battery. AC DELCO will cost you around $110.
Where to buy locally? I’m not sure around Charleston, but I’m sure there’s an auto-electric company around that sells them.

I’ve actually been researching the exact same thing. I have an Interstate for cranking and electronics and have been very pleased. That said, in researching deep cycle batteries, I read many reviews giving high praise to the Walmart Maxx group 29 over even the Interstate. At $100 each, I am thinking of giving them a try. Any bad experiences from this crowd? Not trying to high jack the thread- I figured it was in line.
Not high jacking at all. Walmart west Ashley only has 24vdc deep cycles.
I’ve heard similar things about their brand. I certainly don’t mind spending the extra few bucks if it lasts a long time.
Walmart MAXX group 29 with 2 year warranty for $100. Just take it in every 2 years and get a new battery. Wal mart will exchange it no questions asked. If you don’t have the receipt they go off of the manufacture date sticker on the battery. So grab one with a sticker as close to your purchase month as you can.

sailfish; hope that you got my return msg. that is a 12v system and i like the walmart idea. as i told you before; they are also everywhere in case you have a problem with the battery. get a group 27 or 29. the 29 will give you a little more run time. the 27 should work just fine for you.
