Maybe you need a different prop? A foot is a foot. What year motor? What size boat? Lots of unanswered questions here - would help you get a better response if you explained yourself.

sorry guys right now I have a 1999 130 johnson on a 19 ft palm beach with a 150 foot on it when taking off it stays about 3000 rpms and then slowly reaches full throttle. it is very slow to plane out but still reaches top speed not like it was with the other foot on, the mechanic who helped me out changed the prop from an alumiun to a stainles and added fins to the foot said it should fix the problem but it dont I have carried it to other mechanics and they say the motor is perfect and the foots are the same please help

there is a reason the mechanics are saying the gear case is the same
the gear case is the same
what rpm is wide open throttle

the v-4 and v-6 do have the ability to share a gear case, but your problme may be the diameter of your prop. the pitch could be correct, but if the diameter is to large, you dont have enough horsepower to get it going quickly enough
