150 yahmaha 4 stroke not staying cranked

We got the boat packed today for a nice day of cruising around and after about 10 min of idling in the cut the engine started to sputter and shake and eventually shut down. I tried to recrank and it wouldn’t with out me priming the ball. I got back to the landing and tied up and cranked the motor and it did fine and then it started shaking and sputtering and shut down again. I just put 20 gallons of ethanol free gas in about 2 weeks ago, the separator looked clean and so did the fuel filter. Could the ball be bad? I have no clue…

sounds like it might bet a bad lift pump.

could be the ball or ur gas lines could be dry rotted and sucking air somewhere ,mayb an injector could be clogged.
