Don’t always think the worst. I have a minn kota 45 lb thrust trolling motor that froze up a few years ago. Had a spare so i just tossed it in the garage. Well this weekend i decided to tare into it. Come to find out a 19 cent clip broke and the shaft shifted and it locked the prop into the housing. 19 cent clip and its as good as new.
A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.
My dad blew a freeze plug in our old S10. 75 cent part, a couple hundred in labor. Apparently they had to drop the engine to access it. My dad knew vehicles very well-- he took one look at it and said “no way”, took it to someone else and joyfully shucked out the cash so that he didn’t have to mess with it lol.
