I’m looking for a hybrid boat for mostly flats fishing with occasional jetty mixed in. This boat looks perfect for me, 9-10" draft, 8’-6" beam, nicely set up with recirculating bait well in leaning post. Good factory value pricing right now too. Any opinions on this model and brand would be appreciated.

I had a Scout 162 Sportfish for 15 years and absolutely loved it. I just wanted a bigger boat so I started looking. It took me almost 2 years to find my current boat which is a Ranger, but I looked at this boat very seriously http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2007-Scout-200-Bay-Scout-57-HOURS!!-WARRANTY!!-101822010. If you are willing to buy used, this is a really nice boat that I would have bought had I not found my Ranger. It all came down to price and I got a better deal on my boat. The downside to this boat is it is being handled by a broker. If he would have been willing to deal a little and answer the phone when I called, I would have bought the Scout. If the link does not work, search Boattrader.com for used Scouts. It is a 2007 Scout 200 Bay. It is still for sale.

Thanks, the chines on the bay scout look well designed. With the factory value pricing you can get a new one for only a few grand more than that one so I see your point. I was worried because I read some negative things on THT about Scout. I’m sure most manufacturers have some issues here and there. Does anyone know what a reverse transom means?
Love my scout as well… I got a great deal on mine used as well. Deals are out there if you are willing to wait for them.
