Totally not fishing related, but I’ve decided to sell my Mini project.
Car is disassembled for sheet metal repair. I’ve done the metal work
New floor pans, inner and outer rockers, toe kick, companion box, support structures, trunk pan, sill plates, rear valence, front fenders, and nose panel.
I also welded in patches to the A panels and lower rear corners.
Basically I’ve completely rebuilt the bottom 6 inches of the car. I spent a couple hundred hours making panels, welding, and making sure the body stayed true.
Everything was seam welded, iron phosphate treated, and coated inside and out with truck bed liner. All new sheet metal should last another 50+ years.
Engine runs with good compression, trans shift smoothly
Original seats, plus a pair of low back bucket racing seats like Corbeaus.
Lots of new parts still in boxes.
I got bored with the project while it was at the body shop being faired for paint. Now it’s sitting taking up 1/2 of my garage.
Everything is here to put it back together minus a few bolts that were rusted beyond saving.
Body is smoothed and almost ready for paint. It needs wet sanding / final blocking. Then put it back together.
Like I said, I lost interest and I’m spending all my time and spare $$$ building a Lotus 7 autocross car.
