1998 Yamaha OX66 surging???

Took the boat out yesterday, and noticed at 3000 RPM’s my engine is surging from 2900-3500 RPMS. It runs like a top on either side of this RPM range. The engine is a Yamaha ox66 fuel injected 225 Saltwater series V76. It doesnt skip or anything just will run at 2900 RPM’s for around 15 seconds and in 5 or so seconds will be at 3500Rpm’s and then drift back to 2900. Its real consistent and rhythmic. The swells or chop didnt seem to influence it in either direction, but that is what it felt like is if I was climbing a hill. Any Thoughts are greatly appreciated

had the same problem out of mine and i just got it out of the shop… the screen in the main fuel pump was dirty little cleaning and back on the water… sent you a pm also

I love the 2220 key west. The lay out of the boat and the ride is great the two most important things… just hope to get these few bugs out of the moter so i can get in on the fall fishing…
