I’m looking at two 98 model, same make 18’center consoles. One has the Yamaha 115 and the other the Rude 115. Both 2 strokes, both boats priced about the same. Anyone want to share their opinions on either or both of these motors? Thanks
I have a 2000 Yamaha 115 2 stroke. It still runs great. Approx 850 hrs on it. I take good care of it.
2000 SeaPro 180CC w/ Yammy 115 2 stroke
1966 13’ Boston Whaler w/ Merc 25 4 stroke
Thanks Optiker. Hows your Sea Pro holding up? Thats what I’m looking at.

I had a 115 Johnyrude on my old McKee - heavy boat. I would take the yammie in a heartbeat.
186 Bone Flats Boat
140 Suzuki fourstroke
Reel: Great. I get lots of compliments on it, very clean for its age. The prior owner kept it very nice, and I have done my best to do the same. I think I will have this boat for a long time. The hull doesnt cut the waves as well as other boats so it can be a little bouncy if its rough, but not a problem. One of the best things I did was put a leaning post in. I’m 6’ tall and to me the captain seats were useless.
Edit: The 115 is an upgrade in power from the recommended 90HP (I believe). With just me in the boat it goes nearly 40 MPH.

quote:I have that Yamaha 115. I've run the hell out of mine and it still runs just fine. My mechanic likes it to. All he does is replace the impeller and water pump from time to time.

Go with the Yamaha.I will personally never own another Johnson/Evinrude/OMC/Bombardier POS again.
