I’m looking at a 1999 Hydra Sport Vector 2250 with a 1999 Yamaha V 250 ox66 2 stroke hours unknown. On a rebuilt tandem axel trailer with 2 down riggers for $12,500. I was wondering if anyone here has owned a hydra sport or a vector model with any insist? Pros and Cons greatly appreciated. Also looking for a Yamaha mechanic if anyone has any recommendations for any locals. I want to get a compression test and hours off the motor. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chad
we are a Yamaha dealer, and offer a buyers inspection for $129
I think all the local Yamaha dealers offer a similar service.
the vector is a very solid boat.
we just put a newer used Yamaha f250 on a 22 Vector a couple weeks ago.
the ox66 is a very reliable motor, it just burns more gas than the newer 4stroke motors

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING
What you save out of pocket now you can invest right back into the gas tank! I love those hulls and the ox66 has an awesome reputation but I think I’m done with gas guzzlers. If you don’t do long runs offshore often I wouldn’t think that gas would be a problem.
Take a good look at transom and inner panels, some older models were nicknamed hydrasplit. Nice riding hulls, not too wet.
