Do you have access to Rental kayaks for any of the Hero’s? If not, let me know, and I will try to help in any way possible…

I think the Kayak sales places might lend their rental’s to the cause. They can get a Charity deduction at little or no cost.

Those who can’t fish, spend too much on seafood!

YOTF, Thanks Brother. I REALLY appreciate the support and offer but I got kayaks for them courtesy of Time Out and Dolphin Dave… now if you know anyone in the industry that could donate a few yaks to the chapter that would REALLY help out… My long term goal is to have at least 5 yaks riged and ready to go any time for these guys whenever they want to fish so I don’t have to coordinate with anyone else… we grab the yaks, grab the Heroes, throw some bait in the yak and off we go. This tournament is in part setting that up… I have not felt any love from the manufactures for us so it looks like we’ll have to buy boats, so this will get us started… Hell I’ll give the Heroes MY yak to use as long as it gets them out and fishing… it’s LEAST I can do for these guys… Like I said as an injured vet myself I understand first hand how much this helps, not a lot of people out there understand it. I have gotten feed back from potential sponsors and it felt like was turning down a bad business deal that won’t get them a lot of publicity instead of an opportuinty to help put he guys… I better leave it there for now… But this goes WAY beyond that… The guys we are taking fishing have ■■■■ near given all in service to our conuntry and I feel ■■■■ proud to do all I can to give them a little time to fish. We have a slew of sponsors who understand what this program is and who it’s about and You’ll be seeing their logos and link to thier sites shortly when I get the SC HOW site up and running, but the others, well they don’t get it, or don’t want to get it, but they do have a business to run and I understand that… But, the ones who are helping are in a small minority… Sorry… I’ll put my soap box away now… Bottom line is… We, the SC Chapter of HOW, appreciate ANY and ALL support and help no matter how small to this cause and the Heroes it supports… Looking forward to seeing ya’ll out on the sound fishin

Count me and my friend Patrick in. I don’t think we will be able to make the capt’s meeting because of a soccer game on Friday.

dont have a ruler to measure my winning fish im going to catch, what kind of ruler is best?

Tarpon 120

Jordan, I should be able to get the goods for you and Patrick. I’ll leave them at my car so you can pick em up when you get there…

GAredfish, Don’t know if nikonjedi got support from 321fish.com or not. They have a great ruler. A SCDNR sticker on a board should work just fine too. you can pick those up anywhere.

Nikon, I won’t be able to make it sadly. I already have plans that weekend with some friends on the upper stono. Looks like I will have to settle for catching 38" redfish and not winning anything :stuck_out_tongue:

I caught a several 30 plus today in less than water than they could be covered in. You never know???:smiley: I’ll post later with some pics.

After some of the ■■■■■■■■ I have gotten I realized I left out a HUGE part of information about this tourney… This is the Redfishville Shoot-Out for HOW… I never explained what HOW is. I apologize for this. How is something VERY near and dear to me and I forgot ya’ll can’t read my mind.

Heroes on the Water or HOW is a non-profit orginzation that takes injured war vets, be it physical or mental injuries, and takes them kayak fishing. We do fly fishing and conventional fishing, what ever the Hero wants to do. Through generous donations of companies and individuals we are able to provide these Heroes with an outlet to aid their recovery and it is totally cost FREE for the Heroes. Through donations of equipment like Cabelas and Okuma have promised and Time out has promised in rental kayaks for our use, March Brown for donating a new fly rod for a prize and Dr. Cody Nelson in Virginia who is building a custom fly rod for us as a prize or donations of gift certificates like the Dog and Duck and KOA have pledged and by individuals like you with your tournament fees, we are able to do this. EVERY cent raised for this tournament goes to get our Heroes out on the water and fishing. NOT ONE CENT WILL GO TO ANYTHING ELSE. I apologize if anyone thought I was setting this up for my self or for a profit. I started setting up this chapter of HOW last month and with the outstanding help of Lost@sea, Austin and TooBusy we are on the verge of actually powering up and taking off. Any one who doesn’t want to fish the tournament, thats cool… but you are reading this and now you know about HOW and why we are doing this. That is the number one goal of this tournament, to raise awareness of the chapter and who we support, 2 is to raise some money so we can buy the chapter kayaks for the heroes to use and 3 it gives us a better excuse to meet up and fish together :smiley:… For any fly fishermen that don’t want to fiash the tournament… thats even better…because I know where a 45" MONSTER has been hiding… I

Oh yeah I forgot… we’ll be getting a spot on TV with Low Country Live, Channel 4 either this monday, or next friday or the following monday  set your tivo to catch me and Austin talking about HOW and the tourney  Thanks to Austin for setting this up… too bad i can;t get the Admin here to square away his account…

Ken, I have 4 new paddling life jackets plus a new set of neoprene waders (scupper skins) that I would be more then honored to donate to this cause. The life jackets are the lo cut paddling ones made by Stearns for Perception.
Might be able to help ya out on getting some of the kayak manufacturers on board too. I used to be heavily involved in the industry as a whole and still have a lot of contacts. Can hook you up with a gold medalist in kayaking that does a lot of “good will” promotions and such, he’s local but travels a lot and is a great guy.
