1st Bass on SAGE rod...

Fished a family pond Saturday and was able to throw a black/yellow popper into a good size flat with a bunch of grass and logs and finally got my 1st fish on my new SAGE Largmouth 7’11" rod.
I had quite a story of what happened to me that day but if you want to read that you’ll have to check out the freshwater forum because I can’t type all that again…
I had 3 bass miss the popper all together and hooked another good one that got me hung up in some grass and got off but I was fired up from popping my cherry on the new rod.
I love to see them hitting the topwater again! Nothing like it…

I almost gave up on this rod because it has a different action than my other 8 weight and 6 weight but I’m getting used to it now. It’s nice for it to be a foot shorter for some of these tights wooded areas I’m having to throw in between to get in these little flats. Nice too that I only need 1 or 2 false casts to chunk it about as far as I need to…
