1st day offshore for EagleOne

We picked the best day of the year so far!! Headed out early and started at the R8 and quickly caught fish. Quickly put 3 keeper SeaBass in the boat with smaller ones mixed in and drifted over some nice structure and bam bam, 5 ARS all at 19"…what a biotch. Also caught two gags that were around 18". The tide went slack, the bite dropped off and the yahoo in the Hydrasport was just too much to believe.

So me and my partners thought that the bigger fish would be in deeper water so we pushed on. Moved on to the Y-73 and didn’t have much luck. We found the sharks!!! Managed to catch a few vermillion, porgies and triggers, but got tired of the sharks so we called it a day. Opened it up and made it back inside in uder 45 min. Any day you can go 55 and drink beer on the open ocean in a bay boat is a good day.

Eagle One we saw yall out there at the y-73 tanker. We were in the Bertrum “yo yo”. We caught nothing but sharks at Y-73. We came from the North in about 100 ft. of water. Limited out on huge bsb, silver snapper, vermillion snapper, and triggers. WE should have stayed where we were. No grouper today but a beautiful day on the water. Thanks “Sells” for the bottom numbers, good live bottom. If you ever need a favor don’t hesitate to call me. JR

Congratz on the catch and the great conditions. I’m headin out now and hope like hell it stays nice.

I have to say chasing tails did a great job navigating around those #'s. We caught alot of fish. Unfortunely we could’nt get a keeper ARS or GAG. We’ll get them next time. Had a great time.

Fishing is the chance to wash one’s soul with pure air.

Hey Shawn, Had a blast. The bay boat ran great out there. Next time we can only hope to run 50 mph on the way in, that was classic…Never got a drop of water on me…Loved the deep blue and of course the Amberjack School was pretty neat to see and the dolphin run was planet earth like…Thinking about hitting some trout today kinda soar though from all those fish.oh wait I did wet when these guys splashed me…

Good job! Saw your rig at the ramp yesterday when we were putting in, but you were gone by the time we came back to the ramp.

We were taking out at the ramp right beside you, that’s a good looking rig!

“EAGLE ONE” You did look mighty fine out there. I was on the bridge of “Yo-Yo” and you were not alone in the disappointment with the Y-73. My last few trips there have not been stellar, I guess it is due to a pretty fair amount of fishing pressure on it. I went there two Sunday’s ago and counted 12 - 13 boats at the Y-73 parking lot. I have caught some nice Grouper and Snapper there in the past. Did you get your boat from Stephen or Gene at Charleston Boat Center?

headstrong, no I bought my boat down in Florida. our original plan was to head north and I guess we should have. now that I know I can be out there in 45 min. I will be keeping my eye on the reefcast throughout the winter.

Fishing on the bottom is like having sex with the lights turned off. It feels good but I wanna see it.
Lights On!
