1st Sailfish 7/31/07

Today we went out of Edisto to 120 ft. Began trolling and caught 2 kings, 2 cudas, and 1 sailfish in an hour. Went diving on live bottom at 115 ft. Then went in to 95 ft. and dived again. Found 3 lobsters, but all were females with berries. Visibility was not good at all. Could only see about 10 ft.

Congrats on 1st Sailfish! How was the swim?

Would have been nice to have some lobster for dinner, huh? I need to take my dive gear out next time …

You sure that was a sail and not a small marlin?

You should have held it up for a better pic.

Chaos,
I am glad that you stayed with us this past weekend. I really enjoyed your company. You know that you are welcome anytime.

Edisto82,
Yes, Barry was very happy and the Redeye got it’s first sailfish. Barry was a good captain.

ReelExcitement,
I’m ready to go diving back to the secret charleston hole where those large lobsters hang out. You did a great job searching for the ones on the last dive in that murky water. Remember going the 100 yards away from the anchor to find them in that full moon current on the bottom. Get in touch with Steve and I will get with Jamie and maybe we can make a two boat adventure under the sea.

brad my personal favorite was when barry and i were bottom fishing and you guys all popped up about 150 yards off the starboard side. Took us a sec to figure out what you guys were. ■■■■ currents haha

Yes Daniel, I know that surprised you because we did not stick to our dive plan of coming up the anchor rope. There just was not anything on the bottom to hunt, so we all stuck together and went searching for some fish or lobsters. We tried to head towards the boat, but the bottom current took us off course. We knew that one of you guys on the RedEye would see us. Now if the seas were more that 4 ft. then that would not be an option. We would have just came straight back up the rope and moved somewhere else to dive.
Let me know when Barry wants to go back out.
