Went pretty much straight out to 300’ of water. After placing the full spread of 7 lines, we had a dolphin knockdown within 5 minutes. Placed the dolphin in the box and got settled again. After a few more minutes, we had the port short rigger go down at 375’. The sailfish showed himself 50 yards behind the boat. After 5 or 10 minutes of a fight, he was beside the boat for photos. Great start to the morning, but unfortunately it was slow after that. We ended the day with 4 dolphin and the sailfish.
BTW, our group wanted to know what recipes are the best for sailfish filets? Just joking, The sailfish was released to hopefully catch again for another group’s enjoyment.
