Hey all
I’ve been using a fly rod for bass about 20 odd years now. What I’d like to know is my rig suitable for a newbie shallow salt water fly rodder.
I fish a ■■■■■■■ HMG graphite, 9 ft.,
8 wt. My kids got me a Dogwood Canyon DC111 reel w/ adjustable drag. I spooled it with a 100 yds of 20 lb backing and wf-f and replaced the pflueger auto reel i used for bass. Is the floating line a good choice or should I be using a sinking line.
I’ve not fished anything but popping bugs.
