I went out in the Shearwater for the first time since the 1st weekend in November on Saturday. Went down to the dock pulled the cover off trimmed everything down and she fired up after about 6 seconds. I had both batteries on trickle charge and the tank is full of Amoco hightest loaded with Startron. At this point I backed off the jet float and motored out of IOP Marina. I ran from IOP to Shem Creek without a hiccup. I got back in the waterway and bumped everything up and cranked out 5900 rpms at 52 mph. Everything worked fine except for a gemlin in the Lowrance 337c. It was fine leaving the marina and then it cycled itself on and off with no help from me. I checked a couple of sites and I am going to try a soft boot and then maybe a hard boot then its an update of software. Hope this works. I have all the waypoints backed up on a handheld. I have heard nightmares @ service on the Lowrance units. Hope I am wrong. Also heard if you send it in they will send you an updated unit far $212 and give you a 6 month warranty. Still glad the boat ran so fine. I guess the Startron is the stuff and trickle them batteries to keep em hot. The jon boat has been getting a work out lately in the creeks so she is runnung fine. Time for a little periodic maintenace before it heats up. See ya in da creek.
