Fished around Dreher Island for stripers yesterday. Water was around 46 & pretty clear in Crystal lake but had a little color once we got out past the little gap. Marked a lot of bait & fish just outside the little gap but could not get anything to hit the herring.

Finally got a few perch to hit some spoons back in Crystal Lake. Total for day was 7 perch & no hits on the herrings. Not very good for a 2 hrs drive each way but that fishing.

After almost 6 weeks of dodging weather, took the boat out after church for a one hour spin just to make sure it started and would still float. Just checked Ballentine Creek and around Susie island. Water was clear and temp varied from 48 to 47. Saw virtually nothing in Ballentine and other shallow water, but did locate bait and some fish in 60-70 foot water with fish being deep.

Mike, I fished from 10-12 today 2 min from home at little gap. Did get 3 good keepers and saw plenty of bait. Used some shad. I’ll email you sometime this week.

I fished Crystal lake with a new friend Saturday and couldn’t buy a bite! We were targeting largemouth in relatively shallow water. We moved over to Camping creek and caught a few decent fish on spoons. It was the worst fishing day I’ve seen in a while.

Fished with another friend today, further down the lake in much clearer water and did a little better. Had around 20 perch and an 18" largemouth. Fish were scattered between 37’ to as deep as 52’. Some were probably deeper than that. Atleast some of them were hungry today. They were staying so close to the bottom they looked like rocks or stumps instead of fish! Silver seemed to be the color of choice again today. All but one of the fish I caught hit the 3/4 ounce Cotton Cordell spoons.

I fished around dreher with a friend bass fishing but I caught a striper on a pearl white zoom super fluke in about 10 ft of water. I was surprised to pull that up to the boat. We caught a couple bass with the biggest being 22 inches and 5 pounds 10 ounches
