Left the ramp at high tide yesterday… Tons of 4-5in Menhaden in upper Wando just below the 41 bridge so why not take a little of what nature provides. After a couple net-fulls, we ran down river to some favorite spots and after fishing artificials for a couple hours to no avail, we decided to hit a couple spots with live and cut bait. Finally picked up a couple reds in the 24-25in range. Was a gorgeous day on the water. Wish I had applied a little sunscreen though. Even though its February, don’t leave home without it…

2015 18ft Tidewater w/ 115 4-stroke Yammy
gnats are epic, fog is as thick as the pine pollen, and peanut menhaden have oddly been here in droves for a couple weeks… quite a turn around from January’s weather!
We need to feed the Zeka fearmongering so they kill all the bugs again.
Sure was nice not coming home covered in bites or soaked in chemicals.
