Left the Cut at about 7 on a cold, cold morning with one person short because some punk failed to call me back Friday night. We won’t name and names, although you know who you are. J/K. Put the cold weather gear on and proceded to make great time to our first spot about 35 miles from the rocks. Ocean was slick all day with the slightest hint of wind picking up around 3 or so. Other than that, it was dead still all day long on the ocean. Had great fishing action all day long. My arms were actually sore from pulling up so many fish all day; it was a great feeling! We tried drifting our spot a few times before we found a productive spot for us and droped the anchor. Everytime we’d drift off good bottom, the sharks would always find us. Probably released at least 50 or 60 of those 3 to 4’ reef sharks all day long.
Caught plenty of BSB (some in the 19-20" range), Bliners, tons of endangered porgies of course, white grunts, a big for me Keywest Grunt, and surprisingly not the first AJ, and the other usuals. Really surprised about that, but I’ll take it.
Fantastic crew and I can’t wait to do it again soon guys. Thanks for a great day.
Hey glad you put something in the box…Even though there only about 20 of those red porg left in the world (lol)we caught those suckers and sharks all day long…
I should could been there but thats how it goes for me and Bottom fishin’
Thanks for posting the pics of FF, I need to see as many of those pics that I can see
Fishing on the bottom is like having sex with the lights turned off. It feels good but I wanna see it.
Lights On!
Ricky,
The next time we go out I want to drop down and see what it looks like down there. That one pic where structure rises about 16 feet off the bottom looks very interesting.

10-4. We shoulda gone a little deeper and looked for Mr. Groupa a little harder. Although I know you and Marvin enjoyed the constant action. I wonder if he cleaned all those fish yet?

That "structure" won't be there next time you go... It's because it will probably swim somewhere else...

I see that you didn’t attempt to identify any of the various bottom pictures…
Afraid Phinigan will show you up? [:0]

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.
