Had a really late start for the years first trip due to Murphy’s law. Headed out to the N side of the S jetty. Passed threw what felt like a 10 degree temp drop coming up to Fort Sumter on the way out. T-shirt to sweat jacket instantly. Anchored up and dropped cut frozen squid chunks on light weight Carolina rig. Let current drag along edge. Despite a few hang ups, managed to secure a dozen swimmers in about 2 hours. 7 slot reds and typical small BSB (all released). Last 20-30 minutes, bite just fell off. Setting sun temp drop pushed me back home. Everybody on board saw a little action. No boat or gear issues. All in all a blessed start to the 2018 season.
Good day.
Very nice! Thanks for the report. Glad you guys found a few fish! I crossed the harbor the other day and the temp drop where the wind was pushing in off the ocean was surprising! Massive difference.
