2/27 Afternoon Report

O.K. I got my new homemade rod holders that I designed and help build on the boat. I got my new homemade planer boards that I made. I got my newfound striper fishing knowledge from the last tournament and from Tommy (thanks). I go by Richard’s and get some herring. So I am all ready to load the boat. I put in at the dam and head over towards Beards Creek. I get all set up with 4 boards out, 2 free lines, and one cork rod. Only problem was the fish didn’t cooperate. I caught 1 catfish about 5 lbs. and 2 other strikes but no other fish. Still better than sitting at home. But I am determined to figure these things out. Oh well, here are some pics of my homemade stuff.

Edit: The water temp. was in the low 50’s and fairly clear. I did not mark many fish on the depth finder. Plenty of birds sitting around, though.

I made 8 of these…

Don’t feel too bad. We just had 2 cold fronts pass. Makes for tough fishing

Looks like you’re ready to go, Charles. Too bad about the fish, but there’s no guarantees. Hopefully Spring is right around the corner. Water temp seems to have dropped since we were out Saturday. Need a few days of sunshine. I should have went out with you instead of going to the golf course. Have a safe trip to Disneyworld and back.

I was out this afternoon. …Two freaking Perch. Chilly water…didnt see much action at all.
