Thanks so much to my friend in Manning who let us use his boat to go fishing not once but twice!

Went yesterday with my girlfriend and her dad. Went way down south to have better seas. Only lasted for so long. Worked back north in the afternoon and rode home in the trough at 22kts.
Got limits of a few species and tons of triggers. One keeper scamp and one keeper ARS. We all fished hard and it stank that it got so sloppy on us. Always like being out there with them though. We caught a lot of fish and had a fine meal last night!

Went again today with edisto-fisher and edisto82. Wore em out. Limits on several fish types again plus 6 keeper gags and 3 or 4 keeper ARS. Released a number of extra gags as we kept trying to get a snapper or 2. Slick today. Nothing but a spread out swell. EF had the hot had today. Wore em out like I said. E82 and him were a lot of fun. good fishing. looks like i made the wrong call on the weather this am. woke up and saw the NE blow and 4.3’ and went back to sleep. glad you got after them.

Nice work on day #2, but you better be careful when taking your gf out there on rough days or she might leave you for a guy with a catamaran!!!

Thanks Phin and EF had a great time out there Sat. Couldnt have asked for a nicer ocean, better fishing or better company. Phin put us on the fish at every spot that we stoped. Another nice thing was the fact that we didnt see another boat all day.

Rolling the weight up to the rod tip was the least of the un-phin-like things done by me Saturday.

  1. not waking up to my 5AM alarm to go fishing and having to be summoned by EF when he called me at 6AM. (I made it 75 minutes late to the bote ramp)
  2. letting EF put a keeper gag and a short red grouper in the boat before I caught my first
  3. actually stopping my fishing for 30 minutes at the time to take a “snack break.”
  4. letting EF and Edisto82 put all the ARS in the box while I caught none!

EF will deny it, but I made a late run to save my reputation with the biggest gag of the day though! :smiley:

skin E, a catamaran of equal length would have but a small advantage in ride quality over this boat. [:0] Ask EF…

oh i get it, you caught 15+ one pound gags, including the 7 or 8 pound pup that the chubby guy is holding up in the photo.

Hmmm… day 2… What was different about day two??? Did the success have anything to do with a winning team member from the CF.com Offshore Bottom Fishing Championship Series being on board. Wonder if he is being nice and playing it down? Wonder if he really used some of the techniques and strategy acquired while fishing on the Banshee to put Phineous on the fish since he could not do it himself on day one? [:0]

That's a good point. EF is a well known "ringer" and was on board with Phin that day...
