Had a few good days out of Pirates Cove last week. Sat. Aug 29th and Thurs. Sept 4th. Had 7 of 8 whites on Sat. Had a nurse on board who was able to get some nice pics. Thursday we only had myself, Chris the mate and Jesse the capt. Tried to entice Reid but he was on his way down to Mt Pleasant to take care of things prior to Hanna. Could have used you Reid. We got covered up a few times and hooked up triples but only got two each time. Always tough reeling two whites at one time. Saw about 12 fish. Had eight hooked and brought 5 whites and a sail in. Tuna was about 65lbs. A real ballbuster on a TLD. I had the drag completely burried and two hard pressed thumbs on the line. Had to be about 25 lbs of drag and this beast wanted none of it. Glad it was the last fish. We broke one off earlier. Sorry there were no pics due to no one to take them. Jesse has been catching them last week. Had a few days with charters with 70lb + yellowfins. Had a few Bigeyes also some up to 170 lb. Good thing he hit an 80!!! Made easier work of it. Sounds like the fall tuna bite may turn out to be pretty good. We are getting TURN ME LOOSE out of the paint shed monday and plan to be on our way to Venezueala next thurs-friday. Hope these storms let us get there in time for the Grand Slam Tournament on the 25th. HOW DO I GET PHOTOS ON HERE???
