All right. Part of the reason I didn’t do a good report was my old 'puter crapped out and now I have a new one with Windows 8. Sober - I hate it. Give me a couple cocktails and I want to break it. But I’m much better now.

Me and neighbor and good friend Terry headed out about 9 a.m. to work a creek. Man day. Love the kids, but sometimes a buddy beats a loved one.

Hit the creek at high tide and went about as far as we could and started working down. A lot of submerged crap in the water, so we lost a few jigs and popped a fish here and there. We found the fish were hanging tight to structure, so we danced around it and plucked off a few fish.

I’m not a big Sunday fisher, so was planning on getting off the water about 3. But the wind died completely, low tide approached, and it was absolutely silent, still, beautiful and fishable. We’d caught about 8 so we decided to head back up the creek at low and pluck around some more. Glad we did.

One, it was an absolutely perfect day to be out. NO WIND and we didn’t see another boat ALL DAY. Perfect silence and stillness, and Terry is a good guy to focus fish with. He worked a Texas rig with a grub over trees and such, and was getting hits but had trouble hooking them. I threw a weighted hook with a jig and was getting skunked.

I switched to the TT and started throwing the middle. BAM! Trout. Then another. Move up a ways and BAM! Repeat. We found that if we could find 6 - 9’ of water, we could pop trout. Tide was slow, so we just meandered along, watching the depth finder, and plucking off fish. It was neat! About 50/50 between TT and mud minnow/jig head. Never hit a big school, but any time we found a hole, we found quality fish. Terry even plucked off a flounder, which is always cool this time of year.

Just a nice day. Good fishing buddy, cold beer, neat conditions, and figuring out the fish. We wound up with I guess about 25 trout and 5 reds. Reds were rats, so we ended our day searching for a dandy and I plucked her off as

I know that creek… Usually stripers in there as well… Nice Job Vinman!
