Here is the link to the story. I wish we could help… I’d hate to get stranded out there all alone. Wonder what went wrong??? I guess the weather was a little worse than they thought.
They must not have kept up with the weather and all of the advisores(high winds, small craft, rip-currents, and higher surf), because they should not have been out there. I do hope both survive and learn the harsh lessons of “mother nature”.
Mornin’;
…well to start off with, our prayers are with their families. After that, … “Dudes”…I’ve been “locked” down since Sat. because of the wind. It’s been real BAD… I have sea touring yaks, and I wouldn’t have attempted any kind of launch, …let alone any kind of crossing. The pic I just saw on the “TV”, that wasn’t a “Touring Yak”. It looked like a Pungo, (…sorry no disrespect), but I wouldn’t be out in this …in that… OK, I wouldn’t be out in this (period). I sure hope this turns out alright. It’s an eye opener…"Don’t trust Mother Nature, …and never (ever)turn your back on her… You have your PFD?
The news last night said they wer both form Atlanta… probably had no clue to what they were doing. Like paddlin said, thought and prayers are with them and their familes but, on the flip side, sometimes natural selection is a good thing. With the weather and all the news reports about the possible tropical storm, that did happen, I would have thought twice about even taking my yak out in a lake much less the ocean. I guess common sense ain’t that common anymore…

Just trying to learn every bit I can about fishing…
Heard on the news today that an unidentified body was found on the shores near Beaufort. Even though the article stated they were vacationing on Seabrook and have used the kayaks before, they should have never tried something like that. I wish the families closure so that they can move on.
