It was just me and a newbie on board today and I had the most rewarding trip in a while. My guest did not know how to rig baits or set a spread, so it was OJT all day. plans to go to EBanks and 225 got scraped early do to huge storm. Thanks Sirius satellite for weather on my dash. on to the ledge then out to 500 ft.
Highlights for the day. Keep in mind 2 guys, one is a newbie:
Got a quad hookup on wahoo, a first for me, all on mono, only got one in the boat but that got the blood flowin. Love my new dredge.
Had a quad hookup on dolphin, got all 4 in the boat.
Then another quad dolphin in the rain, got 3 of those in the boat.
Totaled 16 dolphin in the boat, 1 wahoo in the boat, lost 3 wahoo, 1 cuda, 1 throwback peanut, 4 jump offs, 1 crimp failure at the boat, and a dozen “crap, how’d we miss that one” moments, all while dodging storms.
Very busy day for this old boy but one of the most memorable. My guest was on cloud nine.
PS: a lot of dolphin between 300-400ft. and some nice weeds
