Selling some rods to free up reels and go another direction. Not the highest end rods on the market but good quality.
For those who haven’t slow pitched, it’s a little more relaxed way to jig fish vs. the tiring, fast and furious speed jigging. Catch rates on fish(that aren’t AJ’s) are a little higher slow jigging in my experience as well. I’m keeping 1 rod to stay in the game because the technique does put edible fish in the boat. But these rods are specific to the technique and don’t cross over into other applications very well.
New 6’4" Major Craft Giant Killing Slow pitch rod.
10/10 & comes with sheath pictured. Purchased for a trip to WPB but never made it on the boat.
Purchased for $190, model is discontinued on their website but similar new models can be purchased for $160. Asking $150 OBO.
Used once, 6 month old 6’6" Tsunami spiral wrapped Slow pitch rod.
9.5+/10 no visible blemishes on finish, guides, inserts, etc.
Used during the trip mentioned above. Slow pitching 1-3oz jigs in <150’ of water. A lot of fun bringing up the smaller bottom species and a few stud muttons.
Purchased (when I could finally find one available) for ~$90 asking $70 OBO
Used a few times 6’6" Wright & McGill Heavy bottom/jig rod.
8.5/10 Aesthetic condition. Slight yellowing discoloration on finish in 2 locations about the size of a dime. 2 small gouges in reel seat from the reel hardware. Everything mechanically in excellent condition though.
Decent bottom rod for heavy jigs, chicken rig, etc. I’ve locked down the drag and winched a few AJ’s and grouper out of heavy cover. Just not long enough for my preference.
Cannot recall purchase price and model seems to be discontinued. Similar rods ~$100-$130 asking $50 Firm.
If you have anything that catches fish to barter with let me know. My next purchases will be higher end ~7’+ M-MH rod for the Seigler SGN and a 7’6"+ MH-H rod for the Accurate 600N. Similar items will have preference, but still open to all trades.
