Got to the landing about 1230pm and did a lot of searching and blind casting, nothing special seemed to be poppin. There seemed to be a lot of boats east of Bird Key, so we chose not to go there. Finally set up just north of the channel and west of White Banks hoping to get some relief from the wind…It didn’t help. Between the wind and the incoming tide, had a hard time controlling the little 15.5’ boat. Shrimp finally seemed to pick up about mid incoming tide…then OMG the dreaded Flipper and his buddies showed up. Made one more pass and pulled the poles, shrimp were gone. Flipper cleaned us out in 5 minutes. Put up 13 quarts in the freezer. Great day at the Bay…
Good deal. I’m going to try the North end today for the first time. No idea where to setup but that never affected my results.
