Noticed my starboard 2006 200 opti wouldn’t trim up, so I tested my voltage from relays on my blue and green wires, 13v dc. I can hear some sort of faint noise at the trim motor but no movement. I assume I have a bad motor, plus it looks as if its been replace before. Question is, is my motor bad? How do I unbolt it, does it have a special Allen wrench for it? Thanks
there will be 2 wires (blue and green) going to the motor
there should be quick disconnect plugs for both wires inside the cowling
unplug them, and jump 12 volts to to the wire
positive to the blue and negative to the green to go up (reverse for down)
that way you are bypassing the controls to make sure the motor is bad before replacing
often the engine has to be removed from the back of the boat before you can remove the trim motor
