I have a 2000 Evinrude Ficht 150 efi that has been running great ever since last weekend… I was going around 30 mph and all of a sudden the motor slowed down and cut off. I was able to restart it after a bit to get closer to the ramp and trolled back. I checked the fuel filter and it was good, checked the fuel it was good. Checked the oil tank and it was very low! The alarm never went off. I added oil and took the boat back out. It would only start up after I revved it up and then when I idled it back down it would die. It seems like it is starving for fuel. Any idea? When I looked at the carbs there was a good bit of oil in them.
Amazing that you have one of those that still runs. I know of one other one in the whole Charleston area. Not positive but I think Berkeley Marine may sell Erudes, and the place in McClelanville I know used to sell them. Good luck with it
Oh, if you have EFI, you don’t have carbs. Did you mean “oil injected”?
no carbs on that motor, so not sure what you were looking at.
pull your spark plugs one at atime and inspect, clean or replace
those plugs have to be indexed, so if you are a decent DIY guy, I would take it to a shop
I think seel’s works on them
